COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS:

I absolutely love Emergency Medicine and am grateful for my 30 years of active Emergency Medicine practice. Texas ACEP gave me the opportunity to work with other Emergency Physicians in developing Emergency Medicine as a specialty. My eight years of service with the Texas College Emergency Physicians was and still remains a blessing and an honor. I know of no other specialty in medicine that is as challenging and as stressful as is Emergency Medicine. Physicians entering the specialty should be cautioned to remain vigilant in their own pursuit of personal health. Stress reduction and healthy lifestyle cannot be overemphasized as a requisite component of the practice of critical care medicine. Along the same lines, in the ED I practiced “Sick Care”. Today, with my retraining, I practice “Health Care” as an Anti-Aging Physician. Emergency Medicine and Texas ACEP are still my passions, but as a 65-year-old doctor, I had to switch gears to stay healthy. God Bless Emergency Physicians and Texas ACEP and God Bless America!
