1. Please provide us with your Medical School and graduation date. Also include your current positions held with a brief description of your duties. UT Med School, San Antonio, 1974—Attending physician with Baptist Emergency Hospital. Have previously served as various hospital department chair as noted in my CV. 2. Tell us about your involvement in TCEP. Member of ACEP, TCEP, have participated in ongoing CME with ACEP. 3. Convey to us your goals as a Director and what you see as the pressing issues facing Emergency Physicians in the next three years. Emergency Medicine is facing significant challenges from payors and regulators which we need to face head on. We also need to better communicate to the public, government and payors the benefit that Emergency Medicine brings to our communities. 4. Please provide a brief description of family, community and professional activities, and hobbies. Married with 7 adult children and 12 grandchildren. Member of AMA, TMA, ACEP. Involved in providing medical care and training in Eastern Europe and Africa. Previously worked with inner city drug addicts in San Antonio. Have published a book on addiction, and have testified before the Congress on addiction issues. Active in my church. Main hobby is running model trains in my backyard. |
