My goals on the board of directors is to work to build membership. I want to continue to improve our annual conference. I would like to be more involved with the residency visits. We need to build value in our college, we could do this by giving members something of value. This could be some sort of educational product. Partnering with Texas clinicians who have a known product may be the key. We also need to encourage more physicians to advocate for the future of medicine. I feel one of the biggest issues in the future will be reimbursement from insurance companies. There have already been pay cuts across the board to emergency physicians due to lower reimbursements to physicians. We need to continue to fight for tort reform as well as fair payment. 4. Please provide a brief description of family, community and professional activities, and hobbies. I am very close to my family. The live in Denver, my in-laws live in Chicago so my husband and I visit at least 3-4 times per year. We are also passionate about traveling. We have a bucket list we are working on to travel the world. We are also big foodies and love trying new restaurants. My husband has a list for us to try from chefs table so we are going to need to save up! I did a fellowship in International Emergency Medicine and I am trying to get back into volunteering my time practicing emergency medicine abroad. I also enjoy running, skiing, and spending time with my friends in Austin! |
