Convey to us your goals as a Director and what you see as the pressing issues facing Emergency Physicians in the next three years. My goals remain unchanged: to continue pushing TCEP focus on empowering EM Physicians to have the authority and protections necessary to provide the right care for their patients. It is essential that we continue working with legislators, TAPA members, the TMB and other stakeholders to ensure that EM continues to have adequate practice ability, fair compensation and freedom from undue pressure from hospitals, non-physician owned corporations and plaintiff's lawyers. These last threats directly endanger patients and their access to residency trained Emergency Physicians. 4. Please provide a brief description of family, community and professional activities, and hobbies. I enjoy serving my community as the Chief of our safety net public hospital's ED which is the largest ED in the nation. I also appreciate your confidence in my service on the TCEP Board for the past 3 years. I serve as the Emergency Physician on the PDMP Advisory Board for the State Board of Pharmacy and as the Tactical Medicine Director for Fort Worth Police Department's TacMed Unit. When not working I enjoy mountain biking as well as hiking with my three amazing sons. |
