FREE Helmets to Protect Little Heads!

TCEP still has a few childrens helmets that we purchased earlier this year through the Texas Medical Association (TMA) Hard Hats for Little Heads program, and we need your help in getting them in the hands (and on the heads!) of children. Helmets are FREE to TCEP members while supplies last.

One of the best ways to give out these helmets is to host a community event - maybe in conjunction with your hospital. Or, adopt a class or two at your local elementary school. You can even have a few on hand in the ER and give them to children who come into the emergency department. Simply email a request for free helmets. Regardless of how the helmets reach the kids, the end result is reducing risk of childhood head injuries. (Note: If ordering for an event, please allow 6-8 weeks for shipment.)

Customizable event promotional flyers, helmet safety tips, and sizing guides are available on the TMA website. Materials are available in English and Spanish.

Hard Hats for Little Heads is the longest-running outreach program by the Texas Medical Association (TMA). Since 1994, Hard Hats for Little Heads has put the spotlight on the use of helmets to protect children during activities such as biking, skating, and riding scooters. More than 375,000 helmets have been distributed to help keep children safe while operating recreation on wheels.

Visit the TMA website or email Carol Carlton at [email protected] for more information about the Hard Hats for Little Heads program.
